Sand in California

I went to the beach a few times when I was in California this March. Some of the sand along the inner waterways was eroding in wonderful ways.

Snow Day

So Beth and I both have the day off, due to the city more or less shutting down due to an above average snowfall. UIC shut down last night and expects to reopen Thursday morning. Navy Pier closed yesterday at 3PM, and Lake Shore drive became slow and perilous. A lamppost was blown over by the wind, and crashed onto the roof of the car just behind Beth's yesterday. The roof was smashed, and a window blew out. Last night, with hundreds of cards idling and unmoveable, Lake Shore Drive shut down and the fire department went car to car to convince people it was time to go. These are two photos from my windows, looking out.
